We are looking for Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT)s for our 16-Bed Residential Clinic for youth and adolescents in Magna, Utah.

  • Full-Time Morning Shift (7am-3pm); Swing Shift (3pm-11pm) & Graveyard (11pm-7am) & PT/PRN staff!

Shift Differential Compensation for evening/overnight and weekend schedules.
***$2,000 Retention Bonus for weekend and graveyard shifts only***
Pool Shifts starting at $19.00/hour.

The BHT provides quality services to empower and support individuals with mental health disabilities live an everyday lifestyle. Services are provided in congregate residential setting. As a BHT, you will promote active treatment and a positive environment for individuals as identified in their treatment plan / behavior plan.

JOB SUMMARY (Including, but not limited to)

  • Provide consistent monitoring to the wellbeing of the individuals served to provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
  • Assist, teach, coach, and mentor individuals in skills of daily living to include but is not limited to housekeeping, personal hygiene and grooming, budgeting, shopping, community activities and community resources to achieve treatment goals identified in the individual's treatment plan, behavior plan, or vision recovery.
  • Provide consistent monitoring of the member(s) activities & behaviors during assigned shift to ensure services that maintain the safety and wellbeing of all persons(s) served.
  • Assist members in the self-administration of medication and corresponding records.
  • Safely transport members to and from their living environment and any scheduled appointments.
  • Demonstrate skills in planning, implementing, and coordinating health promotion strategies including health and wellness activities.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of menus consisting of well-balanced meals and meeting applicable diet needs as required.
  • Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the member’s clinical record and submit billing appropriate to program and BHT scope of services.
  • Maintain billable hourly requirements as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adhere to agency policies and licensure:
  • Assures positive member outcomes by providing exceptional member care and completion of timely documentation of services by meeting optimal engagement and performance standards as outlined by Copa’s policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Reports potential infections, infestations, accidents, and incidents completing applicable reporting paperwork and reporting procedures.
  • In conjunction with the Program Coordinator, acts as the client/member advocate during clinical treatment planning meetings.
  • Assists with contributing to treatment planning, teaching and discharge planning.
  • Assists with providing a therapeutic milieu for members by encouraging members to participate in recreational activities and group therapies.
  • Assists with supportive therapy for select members by leading group activities and participates in developing group curriculum for psychosocial and skills groups.
  • Performs or assists with the admission of new members by gathering routine information for nursing and clinician assessment, searches patients and belongings for contraband, documents belongings and other appropriate information.
  • May support with functions related to kitchen management.
  • May functions as a preceptor to new BHTs and BHPPs.
  • Adherence to all agency policies, licensure, and training requirements.
  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum HS diploma/GED and two (2) – three (3) years of relevant experience in a behavioral health setting; OR
  • An associate degree and one (1) - two (2) years of relevant experience in a behavioral health setting; OR
  • Minimum 6 months experience as a BHPP at Copa Health and demonstrates competency as defined by the program/direct supervisor.
  • Experience in working with multi-cultural and low socio-economic individuals.
  • Must have a current a valid state fingerprint clearance without restrictions or eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid Utah's Driver's License with state minimum insurance coverage and ability to meet and maintain Copa Health's acceptable driving requirements.
  • Must provide TB clearance before start date.

_ ***A Retention Incentive of $1,000 - $2,000 after completion of one (1) year of full-time employment. The first payment will be distributed after completing your first six (6) months of employment and the remaining half balance after completing your one (1) year of employment. During this period, the employee must be in good standing and not on any form of corrective action or they forfeit the retention incentive.***_

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
